Rockhoppers are a group of paddlers based in and around Dublin. We are a Roof-rack Kayaking Club which means we are not based in a club house and all members have their own equipment. Basically we arrive at the river and get on with it!
We are all levels of ability and will paddle anywhere there is water flowing down hill. It depends on rain levels, group ability and safety as to where we paddle. The Boyne and Liffey are main stays, the Annamoe when it's been raining also the Dargle, Analecky Brooke and Upper Liffey for the thrill seekers!
Rockhoppers often head further a field to paddle rivers like the Easky in Sligo or the Bundorragha in Mayo. The Tryweryn River in Wales is a favorite training ground and Scotland makes for interesting trips.
We are a relatively small club and are therefore able to give time and attention to new members developing them into confident paddlers. So if you have a boat and would like to get out and paddle with Rockhoppers don't be shy and get in touch with us.
